Can't edit image – "Uncaught ReferenceError: imageEdit is not defined"

When I try to edit an image by going to the “Media” section of WordPress, I eventually get a “Uncaught ReferenceError: imageEdit is not defined” on the screen where you can adjust the dimensions of the image, and as a result I am unable to edit the image. Switching out the Newspaper theme to a different theme seems to solve the issue.

Hi,

There could be a conflict between plugins, please try as a test to disable all your plugins except Visual composer, clear any caching installed then check to see if the issue is still there. Also check any custom code you might have entered in theme panel, or directly to the theme files. Switch to the main theme if you are using a child theme to see if this has any effect.
Different plugins are compatible with different themes, it is just a matter of time until you find one that can cause problems. Please let us know how it goes.

Thanks

Hi Simon: We have disabled all plugins and found that we still can’t edit images. When we change the theme we can. We’ll have a look at custom code but we’d appreciate any direction you can help us with.
Thank you,

Hi,

This can only be the result of problematic plugins, or theme modifications. Try to think when this error first occurred, and what has been done prior to that. Maybe you installed a plugin, or made a modification and now can identify a possible cause. You could always reinstall the theme, and see if this fixes the problem if you should consider this an option. Please let us know how it goes.

Thanks
