Never mind. I just figured out it that it was a bunch of footer Widgets.
I spoke too soon. The latest posts block that you see here: http://www.awesomescreenshot.com/image/1487206/d4789525847bdc8b3e1cc4f2ad2affa0 is at the bottom of my home page.
I cannot edit or delete this block.

Where is this block coming from and how do I delete it?

The latest articles section is part of the page template. There are 3 page templates. One of them has this element called the latest articles section. If you want to remove it, simply change to another template from here: http://screencast.com/t/RwNO7fgK
