Hi,
we can exclude categories from showing up in an article’s category list using the following option on the categories option in the theme panel.
“HIDE CATEGORY ON POST AND ON CATEGORY PAGES” -> true
However posts falling in these categories continue to show on the breadcrumbs.
Is there a way (and also a permanent fix in a future update) so if a category is used for block building purposes – that is we want to hide it from the available categories – to also be excluded in the breadcrumbs and instead show any other category the post belong to at the breadcrumbs?
Example
Post X has categories “navigational, Sports”
where “navigational” is not to be shown
now if we hide with “HIDE CATEGORY ON POST AND ON CATEGORY PAGES” -> true, at the breadcrumbs it will show
Home > navigational
instead we want to show
Home > Sports
So how can we have breadcrumbs with categories that are not created for navigational purposes?

Here as you see “Γεγονότα” is a hidden category, and you can see it doesn’t show on the category tags.
However its fully visible as a breadcrumb.

I will add this to our update list and hopefully in a future version we will be able to do it. Unfortunately as it is not a priority at this moment i cannot make any promises.
As an alternative, you could maybe use the yoast breadcrumbs instead of the theme’s but it will give you a bit of a headache. You will have to edit a lot of files to replace the theme breadcrumbs with yoast and i cannot say for sure that the yoast breadcrumbs have options to remove certain categories from them.
