Hi,
We are working in a News website and I need to have normal categories as news, economy, sports, etc and also I have to create categories for different cities and have all of them listed on my Home Page.
I would like to know how is the best way to create the category structure using all the cities and also the topics. Should they be set up as a normal category like the other topics and then we create two different menus to show them?
Hi,
Categories can be created the WordPress way, parent categories and child categories (or main categories and sub-categories). The theme will not interfere with creating categories as you want. Create them as needed.
Displaying posts from them in pages will not be a problem, our blocks, grids etc have many filtering settings

For the header section there will be 2 menus, a top menu and a main menu. In the top menu you can add menu items normally, you can create drop-down menus there.
In the main menu you can do all that and for example mega-menus

The “Fashion” and “Gadgets” in the live theme demo are mega-menus

Let me know if you have more questions.
Thanks
Hi Simion,
I set up a few parent categories and also some child categories, however when I set up the Mega Menu with my main categories the Mega Menu shows all the categories (parent and child) in the same list. I mean, the Mega Menu can`t understand which one is parent or child.
Is it possible to create a menu with the de dropdown list with the parent categories and a second dropdown with the child categories?
Thank you,

Hi,
@sene In the mega menu you can choose a parent category

The sub-categories of that parent will be displayed on the left

That would be all there is to it. This works for one level of category parent/child. So if one of the sub-categories of the parent has in it’s turn sub-categories this will not be taken into account

@cecydeocho The names will be your categories, as you named them. Edit the categories in WordPress and change their names if that is what you want.
Simion,
For example, in your screenshot case, the sub-sub category (style hunter) also appears on the mega menu like another sub-category on the menu.
In my case I have approximately 5 sub-categories but inside each sub-categorie I have at least 6 or more sub-sub categories. When I mix everything on my Mega Menu it gets too confused.
That may happen, the mega-menu will display them all one below the other not by levels, that is not possible and wouldn’t be practical with the current design.
Maybe use simple drop down menus instead to display a path through the category hierarchy, mega menus will not do that.
