Category Image

Is there a way to insert an image at the top of each category (different for each one).
And if the theme doesn’t support that, can you recommend another solution (plugin, code)?
I tried with Category Background image and Single Background image but the result is identical: one picture on all categories.

Thanks!

Hi,

You can set category images in the theme panel for each category in part -> https://i.imgur.com/hj9E9sd.png. Those can be displayed on the Category Background Image element (on categories).
For tags, you can’t set an image.

I hope this will help you!
Thank you!

I think you didn’t understand my request or I haven’t been clear enough in explaining what I want.

What you suggest is a background image. See the screenshot: https://freeimage.host/i/what-you-suggest.HEPvoCb
But what I want is an image inside the container exactly as for the post feature image.
See the screenshot for the category the way I want it: https://freeimage.host/i/HEPv16v

I know how to do that, but the problem, as I explained in my first ticket, is that all categories and pages will have the same image.

I would really like to find a solution if there is one.

Thanks anyway!

Hi rondupoits,
If I understood correctly, you want to use a different image for each separate category, exactly as for the post that has the featured image set.
For this, you can use the suggestion given by my colleague. An image can be set in the theme panel for each category, then on the cloud category template you must put the Category Background Image element – https://i.imgur.com/O4HOpYo.png
Thank you!

Thanks for your advise! Indeed it works when you add the Category Background Image after the Category title (with BACKGROUND BOXED LAYOUT off).
What I had in mind was to add the Category Background Image immediately under the main menu bar, for the full width of the category page. But if I do so I find that all pages (including Homepage, Contact page) have an empty space at the very same location as the images on Category pages (td_meta_replacement.png).
I tried to add an image on those pages but if I do that trough tagDiv Composer (Css – Background Image), this added image will be placed over the images on Category pages, not overwriting them but covering them.

In conclusion:
– my best scenario will be no Background Image on Home page, full width Background on Category pages and no Background page on other pages as Contact page for example
– what I expressed before is the ideal scenario, but if there is not possible I can live with your solution

If you have an workaround I’ll be more than pleased to hear it.

Thanks anyway!

Hi rondupoits,
To be able to use different images for each separate category, you will have to use the Category Background Image element, because if the image is set with the composer, it will be a static image.
Now related to the problem that this image appears everywhere, it is possible that when you set the element under the menu, you actually moved it to the header area and it is no longer in the content area.
You can see the area where the element is by selecting the element -https://i.imgur.com/ZWREbJJ.png, or when you drag the element to the respective area – https://i.imgur.com/7Ho8dZn.pnghttps://i.imgur.com/6n1mpI8.png
Thank you!
