how can I change the number of posts per row to show? I have the recipe demo and when I try to change the block 15 from 5 to 3, some white space is left while I would like to take 100% of the available space.

Each block uses a combination of modules and both are predefined in the theme. This is how block 15 looks with a limit of 5 posts on a full row – https://www.screencast.com/t/HHYjoVus3N and with a limit of 3 posts – https://www.screencast.com/t/0z8yfTTuZt You can not stretch the 3 modules to fit the entire row. If you want different looking modules you can use a different block.
