Change the folder of theme name

I want to change Newspaper theme folder’s name. If i change it directly from wp-content folder, it will gives white screen on website 🙂
Where can i change it correctly?

You may want to research this online as it’s an old topic, unrelated to this theme’s support or usage. It’s actually more complex than simply changing the name as you first need to change the style.css to point at the new theme name. This is done with all themes, and is also how one creates themes from scratch. WordPress explicitly uses the theme style.css to identify the theme and assets.

You may also need to change any htaccess or wp-config.php settings as needed. If you’re new to using WordPress, this is an *advanced* activity, and there are many articles online regarding how to change the theme folder name.

Once you have fixed the style.css to new name, you would obviously need to select the NEW theme from the admin > appearance function in WP.

@cagdas, did Marius’ post work for you? Activating a different theme, renaming the /Newspaper name in FTP and re-activating it in wp-admin (correct @Marius?)

you should do this before you install the theme.
if you have it already installed an have content I advice you to don’t change the name.
