Hello,
You can change it, but there will be consequences. Our theme depends on a fixed width. Every element is built in a grid view that depends on the total site width. If you change this width then all the elements you use on your website need to be adjusted to the new width (quite a bit of a hassle). We do not recommend modifying the width of the theme.
Thanks.
Hi Borgan,
I thought as much that is why I asked first. It’s one thing to change the width but I noticed the menu, social icons etc gets cut off and that is before I even look at the rest of the layouts so I am going to go with your advice… don’t change the width lol
The only reason my client(s) are requesting this is as most of them run on 1020px to 1024px for background advertising/takeovers. So the artwork needs to be re-done every time so might be good if you do add this as option in future, different width but other than that thanks for awesome theme!
Hello,
This request is not easy to fulfill unfortunately as we will have to recreate the css for all the elements. Maybe in a future version we will be able to implement different widths for the theme, but at the moment there is no such plan.
Thank you for your suggestion.
Hello,
Unfortunately all of them used on the website. Is the width required just on the homepage or on posts as well?
If only the homepage will get affected, then just the elements on the homepage will have to be adjusted. If the posts and category pages will get this width as well, then you will have quite a bit of work on your hands as our modules and blocks depend on the fixed width of the layout. Here is an example on a big grid so you can understand what I am referring to:
This is 1120px width: http://screencast.com/t/WuNiBfRDLV content gets cut-off. If I decrease the size of the main container: http://screencast.com/t/nfxlyC0l6
Thanks.
