When attempting to change the theme accent color of my blog, I change the THEME ACCENT COLOR and click on SAVE SETTINGS. I am then presented with the rotating “busy blocks”. I sit and wait ages, over an hour in one case before I give up. Any ideas what might be wrong?

Hi,
I suspect that the theme access to admin-ajax.php file was blocked by the host, please check the browser console for errors while the “save settings” process it running. If this is the case you have to contact the host administrator and inform him about this. Usually it comes from the server security module, it bans the theme access to this file (false positive). Let me know how it goes.
