After update to Newsmag 4.9, I can no longer change a post template, neither the default one (via Theme Panel –> Post settings), nor when editing individual posts.
I want to change all posts to use Style 5, but changing it doesn’t work.
Any suggestions?

It looks like the template files under plugins/td-composer/legacy/Newsmag/parts/single/… are not being used at all! Deleting this folder does not cause any errors!

Yes indeed, this works with Newsmag theme itself, if I switch to it from my child theme. However, I don’t want to switch away from my child theme, because how otherwise can I customize category description, specific header/footer settings that aren’t covered by tagDiv plugin API?
I really wish your team could add more support for the child themes, or otherwise significantly expand the API, or perhaps at least add some hooks/filters for customizing minor sections of each page or template.

The Newsmag theme update brings a change for the customers that use WP Bakery Page Builder with our Theme: – When you’ll be updating to the Newspaper 9.7 version, you’ll need to activate the tagDiv Composer to keep the Newsmag theme functionality you’ve previously used. Otherwise, you will have basic WordPress functionality, complying with Envato WordPress Requirements – https://help.author.envato.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000472383-WordPress-Theme-Requirements Please note that activating the tagDiv Composer doesn’t mean that you are required to use our custom page builder on your website. You can use the WP Bakery page builder as you did before the update.
We recommended you to do not use the tagDiv Composer and WP Bakery page builders on the same page, because you cannot edit with WP Baker blocks and shortcodes created with tagDiv Composer or vice-versa. Please make a backup for your website before updating.
Most of the theme files were moved into the tag div composer plugin as per the requirements of Envato: https://help.author.envato.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000472383-WordPress-Theme-Requirements.

Moving forward with such requirements, a child theme will only work with functions.php, and style.css, as there are very few files left in the main theme as Envato, requires all functionality to be added through plugins.
