For example if I were to move from Newsman to Newspaper 6 and all my images have the width of 640px. Would it be possible to change the content width in newspaper 6 to the same with as newsmag? I guess the image sizes must be adapted as well?

The width of the newspaper theme is – http://screencast.com/t/JKpaAQXuu and Newsmag width is 1021px .
Unfortunately the theme was initially designed at that width with an fixed grid layout and changing it would not be easy as it needs changing the width value for all elements on pages and for this you would need custom work. Both themes have a similar grid and blocks work on 3 columns, the main difference is the width, so I’m not sure what you will achieve moving on Newspaper and decrease the width.

Okay I understand. Actually I the perfect theme for me would be newspaper with the same width as Newsmag. I would prefer a total white background with no borders. Also one thing I don’t like with Newsmag is that the feature image extends over the width of the content. When you update, are you going to change that?
