Child theme

I didn’t create a child theme earlier and have set everything like I needed on the theme. I still have not made any changes to the CSS. Now I want to make changes via CSS, will making a child theme now make it lose all the customization I did on the front end?

Hello,

No, making a child theme will not change the theme settings. But if you just want to make css modifications, you do not needs a child them at all. You can simply use the theme panel-> custom code-> custom css box to make you modifications.

Thanks.

Thanks a lot, I will not lose my theme customisation and/or custom css code when I update my theme in the future?

Hi,

It depends on the modifications you make. Please check this topic: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/setting-up-child-theme/

Thanks

thanks, that topic was very helpful in understanding child theme even more clearly.

Can I lose my modifications? (when I update?) I have not made any changes to the theme files itself. The theme files are as they were before, I have only made the social media icons a little bigger using the CSS panel available in the theme panel? rest of the changes are just the arrangement of blocks, grids, logos etc. nothing to fancy.

I may lose these things worries me?

Hello,

No you will not lose any at all modifications if the main theme files remain unchanged.
The css in the theme panel remains the same.

Thank you!
