Child theme

Okay, can someone share information about child theme? What’s the story here now? No child theme anymore? Everyone who was using child theme should abandon it and go to directly to Newspaper theme? Noticed that you guys have also removed every information about child theme from your FAQ, is it to prevent new users to use child theme in the future?

What about the ones who are using child theme at the moment for obvious reasons to make changes in child theme so they can keep the things the way they want without you writing over every change they made.

So care someone give official information about child themses now, what’s the story here and how old users and new users should proceed. And will be there some changes in the future to bring back child theme option?

Pretty confused at the moment.

¿No child theme anymore?

¿How not to lost custom changes in templates after update the theme?

Please, we need a solution as fast as possible. We have some customization and obviously couldn’t update yet.

Hi,

Since Newspaper v9.7 the child theme is working only for the functions.php and style.css files.

Unfortunately I do not know what will happen with child theme in the coming update, for the moment there are no news about what will happen.
