Greetings,
I created a nice template using the Cloud Library, but when I tried to use it for my single posts, I’m facing this serious problem:
All category settings are overwritten:
– I’m losing the unique background image I’ve set for the category (the site’s default one shows)
– I’m losing the unique sidebar I’ve matched with the category (since I choose the sidebar from the sidebar widget inside the cloud template. Shouldn’t there be an “auto” option there? So sidebar gets determined by Categories options and not the cloud template?)
All I’m trying to do is activate infinite loading for single posts, and I understand that the only way to do it is through Cloud Templates.
I could go as far as copy the template for each different category, and change the sidebar shown. But it still doesn’t solve the problem with the background images.
Please advise!
I’m using Newspaper 9.7 and WordPress 5.1.1.
Hi,
Using the single post template the sidebar from category will not longer be inherit by the single post template.
I do not quite understanding the problem with background image, please provide me a link were I can take a closer look to this problem.
Thank you!
The problem with the background image is the same with the category.
As you said the cloud template doesn’t inherit any category settings, so category attributes like unique sidebar and unique background image won’t work.
The question is, are you planning to provide any kind of workaround for these issues, or should we find a workaround with the current posibilities? (I believe that being able to set a bg image per category is an important feature, loved by many of your customers, and missing out on it with the amazing cloud templates is a bad deal).
If you need a link example:
This article’s bg image is taken from its main category settings https://altarofgaming.com/black-desert-online-review/
However if I use a cloud template on this post, it will use the default site bg image which you can witness here https://altarofgaming.com/
I understand!
I suggest it would be great if you can do that.
I think the most important thing that many of your customers would love, would be the simple ability to inherit all category options (like background image, unique sidebar etc.) into a Single Post Cloud Template.
I guess providing a toggle (activate main category options) would be the most user-friendly and customizable scenario.
One more question, is there an option I missed, that will let me set a background image on a single post cloud template?
Hi,
Yes you can add an background image on single post template, all you need to do is to click on the with space on “Zone” section -> https://www.screencast.com/t/2V9ZabTbVC but if you set a background image you need to set on row too -> https://www.screencast.com/t/Ev35wyJek
Thank you!
