As per this: https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/
I understand the advantage of using templates for theme updates, but I am not quite sure about the disadvantages.
1) How can I create a template from a page that I have created? Not coming from a pre-designd template.
2) The advantage of custom CSS in a child theme is that I can adjust, for example colors or fonts for all uses on the website. So, when I edit colors/fonts in my saved custom page template, will that also be shown on all pages that use that template?
Thank you
Hello !
Any Cloud template can be fully customized using the tagDiv Composer. You can use custom css in theme panel too without having the child theme.
If you need any customizing help we can help you, simply open a topic here and we will answer as soon as you can !
Thank you !
Thank you very much for your quick reply. Please be so kind and answer my first question.
Kind regards
Thank you. So the answer that I have been after is NO, we cannot save a page created in TD Composer as a new page template. The way to create a new personal page template is to edit a (blank) template first, rather than creating a page first.
Simple. Thanks.
Is there a way to export a page template (or in my case a footer template), in order to move it to another website? I am using MultilingualPress and I want to re-use a template on the other language sites.
Hello !
Sorry for missunderstanding your issue.
You can go and create a fresh new page and edit it using the composer.
Also you can edit the footer since it will become a page and copy the shortcodes in it and paste it in another page.
I hope this was more helpfull !
Thank you !
I use to have a customized template page but it got deleted when you moved to Cloud Templates. How can I use cloud template but customize it to add some custom field data?
I need to add my own custom fields to the header of post template. I use to have my website set up this way with child but it broke with latest cloud updates. How can I fix this?
<header class=”td-post-title”>
<?php echo $td_mod_single->get_category(); ?>
<?php echo $td_mod_single->get_title();?>
<—-Enter custom fields here—->
<div class=”td-module-meta-info”>
<?php echo $td_mod_single->get_author();?>
<?php echo $td_mod_single->get_date(false);?>
<?php echo $td_mod_single->get_views();?>
<?php echo $td_mod_single->get_comments();?>
</div>
</header>
Basically I need to add 2 custom field subtitles to the header template just below the title but above the meta data.
