Hi,
Looks like you have that code in your post content and it’s displayed in that posts excerpt also, in that case you have to edit the post and remove it like this: http://screencast.com/t/INf3u6FGHM
Hope this helps!
Thanks
That looks like the visual editor trying to render the shortcode; switch to the text editor tab (top right in that image) and check again.
P.S. I know it’s a little strange to think of that as the “visual editor”. 🙂 Let’s just say WP has a default text editor and a default visual editor, which is kiiiind of WYSIWYG, and then this theme comes with a plugin for a super-visual editor.

Hi,
Thanks again @TheMediumUTM!!
You could only put the link of the video on the feature video and remove it from post editor text area, this way the video will appear on post page without you having to add it in post content.
Also if you want a video to appear on your post content just paste the link where you want the video to be displayed in the post content.
Hope this helps!
Thanks
I turned off showing featured stuff in the post content. Also whatever I do text or visual editor it is showing the link like it is just some regular text in the post content. Actually I think I may have been explaining this wrong. It doesn’t show up in the post page content. It just shows a video. But on the “Front page / home page” It shows the link like it is a summary of the video instead of not showing any words at all…

Hi,
I understand now, I think the link is interpreted as post content and that’s why it’s displayed in post’s excerpt, but this should not happen, i have tested this and it dose not happen in my case.
If you want you can give us wp-access so we can check this, provide the wp-admin user and pass at contact@tagdiv.com and also send this topic URL along with the message.
Or you can use http://pastebin.com/ and paste the whole post content so we can check, just paste the text from here http://screencast.com/t/XjCsp3pa2crR
You could also avoid this by using the video directly in the featured video, like this http://screencast.com/t/lwN1gcsz You will have the same result as using the embed code into the post http://screencast.com/t/DnS2QHzPzzew
Or you cloud add custom excerpt for this post here http://screencast.com/t/JLBm3UaxWQ
This way your excerpt will show on pages http://screencast.com/t/wj9MeX03G
Thanks

That fixed it. Thank you to everyone to took the time to answer questions and help with my problem.
In our case, we have several thousand posts with manually embedded video, so we can’t just change it.
Isn’t there a way for the template itself to act, so it doesn’t print the [youtube https:/wwww.youtu… etc] part ?
Would it be great to just say “Everything between [ ] should not be rendered/printed” ? 🙂
Seems like there should be some kind of plugin out there to automatically put in a short description in the excerpt box for video posts, even if it just repeats the post title ?
In my case we only had a few posts like that which was solved by actually putting something in the excerpt box on the post pages.
Hi,
Thanks Christopher!
@livingsmarttv You could as Christopher suggested find a plugin for it until we have a solution for this. We have it on our list and hopefully we will have it fix in the next theme version.
Sorry fro the inconvenience.
Thanks
