Is there anybody in here upgraded their respective WordPress v 4.4 with Nespaper Theme v6.6 and went smoothly?
Also the Goggle+ share button sometimes does not catch the proper image when sharing, yes all open graph tags are in there.

Google+ has problems capturing images regardless of the OG tags; usually if there are too many images “before” the main image in the post (e.g., mega menu), if the only image is a giant “outside the post” image format, and/or if the only image in post is too small (e.g., smaller than 300px).
Not much you can do about it, unfortunately.

You will need to use the SEO Yoast plugin and set it according to their guide here: https://yoast.com/social-media-optimization-with-wordpress-seo-by-yoast/#hgoog but this will only improve the chances of G+ capturing the correct images. Don’t expect a 100% fix for it as unfortunately as Chris stated above, not much can be done about it.

There is a way but I didn’t check your code for sharing, in fact Google+ uses schema.org microdata (recomended method) will see if I can do something about it.
