Control the related article feature

Hi,

Is it possible to control the related articles?

For example

– Choose the ‘related articles’ of a post (workaround is using tags)
– Choose different ‘RELATED ARTICLE – TYPE’ per catagorie or per post. So one post uses tags and another one uses catagories.
