Corrupted lay-out website

Hi,

The following issue is driving me crazy, spent a lot of time figuring out the root cause and how to solve it.

If your visit:

http://www.gadgetgoeroe.nl
http://www.gadgetgoeroe.nl (without http://)

You will see the website as it’s supposed to be.

If you go to:

– gadgetgoeroe.nl
https://www.gadgetgoeroe.nl

you will see an entirely corrupted lay-out of the website. Tried this in different browsers, like Chrome, Opera.

I did the following:

– made a rule in .htaccess to forward http -> https
– changed the Site-address and WP-address in the WP-settings to https://www.gadgetgoeroe.nl.
– the JS Composer and theme are up to date.

What can I do to solve this? I’m out of options. Please take in consideration that I’m no expert in coding or php. Thanks in advance.

Hi

This usually happens when loading some file from another host/url. I have checked your browser’s console and you have this erros error – http://screencast.com/t/wrgDHip4WL
The solution would be to load the files from the same url as the site or try this solution – http://webmasters.stackexchange.com/questions/71630/font-blocked-from-loading-by-cross-origin-resource-sharing-policy-no-access-co

Let us know how it goes.
Thanks!

Alright, I’ve been reading a lot of websites regarding this issue. What I don’t understand is how this started to happen… but ok.

What I’ve done is trying that suggestion in the .htaccess but nothing happened.

Then I installed a plugin ‘SSL Insecure Content Fixer’. That managed fixing actually a lot.

What remains are some errors of mixed content aiming at images, for instance:

Mixed Content: The page at ‘https://www.gadgetgoeroe.nl/’ was loaded over HTTPS, but requested an insecure image ‘http://www.gadgetgoeroe.nl/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/gadgetgoeroe-logo3.jpg’. This content should also be served over HTTPS.

Would I really need to (re)upload all the pics? Merely adding an ‘s’ after ‘http’ in the theme panel > header didn’t work. And what about all the other pics used in all my posts?

Thanks! Enjoy the weekend.
