При работе с темой NewsPaper помимо использования основного функционала, мне понадобилась возможность работы с произвольными типами записей, таксономий и полей WP. Для этой цели я решил использовать плагин CustomPress https://premium.wpmudev.org/project/custompress/

1. Какие шаблоны темы будет правильно использовать для создания шаблонов пользовательских типов записей и таксономий?

2. Как правильно настроить пользовательский тип записи (post), чтобы для него был доступен весь функционал темы: Post Options, Post Format, Blocks в Visual Composer и др.?

3. Как правильно изменить шаблон форума BBpress для его отображения во всю ширину без боковой панели? В данном случае боковая панель нужна только на главной странице форума.

Про CPT.

Для работы сайта мне необходимо создать собственный Custom Post Type (post) и Custom Taxonomy. Плагин CustomPress я взял для примера, так как он удобен. Также я могу создать CPT вручную, используя WordPress Codex.

На самом деле способ создания CPT не имеет значения, вопрос в другом, как функционал темы правильно подключить к CPT “post”, чтобы использовать все возможности темы по аналогии с Блогом?

После создания CPT, в админке для него нет следующих блоков:

Если простыми словами, то я хочу клонировать Блог, чтобы у меня на сайте было 2 Блога, один по умолчанию, второй – мой собственный.

Проблема в том, что при создании собственного Блога отваливается функционал темы, остается лишь стандартный функционал WP.

Это не мультисайт 🙂

Ок. Спасибо за понятный ответ. Заметил, что во многих темах не поддерживается функционал CPT, только если он не был разработан под ключ специально для темы, например, Portfolio, FAQ и др.

Будет просто отлично, если у Вас получится совместить функционал темы и CPT! 🙂 Это позволит значительно расширять и усложнять разрабатываемые сайты на WP для воплощения самых разных идей. Попробую подождать обновлений, а пока пожертвую блогом, чтобы реализовать задуманное.

У Вас получилась действительно классная тема! Я был сильно удивлён, когда наглядно увидел, как на самом деле быстро может работать сайт на WP. Вдобавок к этой скорости я дополнительно удалил Customizer WP с помощью нового плагина https://wordpress.org/plugins/customizer-remove-all-parts/ и тема стала летать, как реактивный самолёт 🙂 http://imgdisk.ru/images/2015/07/11/Screenshot_1.png

Кстати, на одном из своих сайтов в качестве конструктора страниц я давно и успешно использую Page Builder by SiteOrigin https://wordpress.org/plugins/siteorigin-panels/ который является достойной альтернативой Visual Composer. VC, хотя он и классный, я не люблю из-за его медленной работы, которая плохо сказывается на всей скорости работы сайта. Но вам удалось каким-то образом его правильно оптимизировать и это действительно круто! 🙂

It will be just fine,if you get to combine the functionality of theme and CPT! 🙂 This will greatly expand and complicate the developed sites in WP to implement a variety of ideas. I’ll try to wait for updates, and sacrifice is a blog to implement its plans.

OK. Я постепенно изучаю этот форум и регулярно нахожу на нём много новой и полезной информации для практической работы. Буду следить за вашей разработкой конструктора страниц. )

Сегодня обновил тему NewsPaper до версии 6.3 и очень обрадовался, так как был добавлен очень нужный функционал для работы с Custom Post Type и Custom Taxonomy. Довольно тщательно его протестировал, пока работает чётко, без ошибок и это круто! )

Правда, не хватило нескольких возможностей, о которых напишу ниже в порядке их важности по убыванию.

1. Для одного Custom Post Type я использую несколько Custom Taxonomies и столкнулся с такой проблемой, что в настройках “CATEGORY SPOT TAXONOMY” и “TAG SPOT TAXONOMY” http://prntscr.com/7thcat можно выбирать только одну Custom Taxonomy. Эти настройки отлично работают, но хотелось бы иметь возможность выбирать несколько Custom Taxonomies для вывода их на сайте в нужных блоках “CATEGORY SPOT TAXONOMY” или “TAG SPOT TAXONOMY”.

2. При настройке блоков и других элементов в VC не нашёл настроек фильтрации по Custom Taxonomy. Наверное, данный функционал пока ещё находится в разработке ) В нужных модулях VC у меня без проблем получается выводить записи из Custom Post Type, но очень не хватает точной фильтрации по Custom Taxonomy.

3. При настройке Post Template для Custom Taxonomy я сначала немного запутался, экспериментируя с шаблонами single.php, но потом понял, что данная настройка http://prntscr.com/7thgr1 применяется одинаково для всех записей типа post. В принципе это не очень мешает, но было бы логичнее разделить настройки Post Template для Default Post Type (Blog) и для Custom Post Type.

4. Ну и последнее, в разделе “CPT & Taxonomy” в настройках “Custom post types” можно очень удобно настроить категории и теги для Custom Post Type, но почему-то нет возможности сделать это для Default Post Type (Blog), думаю, многим бы она пригодилась )

Возможно я чего-то ещё недосмотрел или не так понял, буду рад, если дадите хороший совет!

Today, the theme NewsPaper updated to version 6.3 and was very happy, as was added much needed functionality to work with Custom Post Type and Custom Taxonomy. Rather it carefully tested while working accurately, without mistakes and that’s cool! )

However, not enough several possibilities, of which I will write below in order of descending importance.

1. For a Custom Post Type I use multiple Custom Taxonomies and faced with such a problem, in settings “CATEGORY SPOT TAXONOMY” and “TAG SPOT TAXONOMY” http://prntscr.com/7thcat you can choose only one Custom Taxonomy. These settings work fine, but I would like to be able to select multiple Custom Taxonomies to display them on the site in the required blocks “CATEGORY SPOT TAXONOMY” or “TAG SPOT TAXONOMY”.

2. When setting blocks and other elements in the VC did not find the settings for filtering Custom Taxonomy. Probably, this functionality is still in development. ) The relevant modules VC I have no problem turns out to display records from the Custom Post Type, but are lacking in precision filtering Custom Taxonomy.

3. I wanted to reply to this question of showing multiple taxonomy for custom post type as ‘tag_spot_taxonomy’ and ‘category_spot_taxonomy.

you can do this by:

1/modifying this file (child theme does NOT work):
Newspaper/includes/wp_booster/wp-admin/panel/views/ajax_boxes/td_panel_cpt_taxonomy/td_get_cpt_settings_by_post_type.php
search for ‘tds_category_spot_taxonomy’ and for ‘tds_tag_spot_taxonomy’
at each location change ‘td_panel_generator::dropdown’ to ‘td_panel_generator::input’
This will allow you to list your taxonomy slug in the theme page/cpt&tax/ for your CPT

2/ modifying this file (you CAN copy it in your child theme):
/newspaper/includes/wp_booster/td_module_single_base.php

replace line 185
$category_spot_taxonomy = td_util::get_ctp_option($this->post->post_type, ‘tds_category_spot_taxonomy’);
by this
$category_spot_taxonomy = td_util::get_ctp_option($this->post->post_type, ‘tds_category_spot_taxonomy’);

also add one }, right before the ‘} else {‘

you also need to the same for the tag locaiton
reaplce line 602 by this

Too bad Tagdiv td_panel_generator function doesn’t offer an option to create radio selection with multiple choices, that woudl have been really clean !!!

PLEASE TAGDIV implement this code, it is really usefull ! and easy for yuo to implement now 😉

by the way you need to list your taxonomy in the backend separated by comma, no spacing in between.
