We have noticed heavy CPU usage with our website where the newspaper theme is used. We could understand from log analysis that there is heavy request from amazonbot. Below log entry is logged every second. Can you please help me how to stop this?

Checking the request you provided this is related to a calendar that makes request to database, do you have any calendars set on the website? If yes, please remove it and check to see if the problem is resolved.

Which is the compatible or tested event calendar plugin? It was mentioned that the theme is compatible with event plugin, but which one?

The list with tested plugins can be seen in Newspaper > plugins section – https://i.imgur.com/boOvGQE.png those are tested plugins, but there can be used untested plugins too, but we do not know if those will work correctly or not and we can not provide support for untested plugins.
