I want to set a different sidebar for the homepage. After following this tutorial https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/different-sidebars-on-homepage-and-inner-pages/, i created a new sidebar but i don’t know how to use it on the homepage. I’ve created a template using the visual composer tool. But i don’t know how to activate it. Please help or share the steps for the same

If you have created a custom sidebar please add widgets to it from Widgets section – http://screencast.com/t/TuqUH4vTQE and you can display it on your page content using Widgetised Sidebar block – http://screencast.com/t/78EvZsYieS or if you use page template with article list and you want to display a custom sidebar also there – http://screencast.com/t/KnL4kcFqe96

When i follow your method, a new page is created but the homepage doesn’t have the block and sidebar. The new page has the block/sidebar and the it is included in the sitemap too. Should i exclude this page from the sitemap? and why the sidebar/block is not appearing on the homepage? Please help

Do you want to set your page as static frontpage? You can set it from Settings > Reading – http://screencast.com/t/28qIDRJkJW4q
Using default template or pagebuilder with latest articles will not add you sidebar automatically at your content, you need to use like I suggested above Widgetised Sidebar block or just add blocks there – http://screencast.com/t/DgBXgLLy
