Creating a sidebar

Hello,

How do I create a sidebar? I know how to enable sidebars. But I do not find a way to create one. On my posts, I want to use a sidebar that has the social counter, a recent posts section and a section that has recent posts under the particular tag. How do I go about creating this one?

And I do not want to use the visual composer for my posts. Just the default template with the sidebar enabled.

Also, another question:

In the theme panel>socialnetworks, how do I add my social networks?

With facebook, I added it as https://www.facebook.com/username. But when I click on the link, a 404 error page pops up, and the link is mywebsitename/username. This happens for all social networks. Anything that I am doing wrong in the links?

Also, help on adding stuff to the sidebar. Thanks in advance, cheers! 🙂

Another issue as well. How mobile friendly is the theme?

All I get is code instead of the blocks. This issue was unexpected. Please help ASAP.

Hi,

1. The sidebar content can be edited from Appearance -> Widgets – http://screencast.com/t/DZus5CK6Z

2. I’ve tested the facebook social link on my side and it works, make sure that the url is full and there are no mistakes in it’s syntax – http://screencast.com/t/eD8I7YU1xXgv

3. I suspect you’re using a “mobile theme” plugin, disable it and see if the issue is still there. It may be the mobile theme module in Jetpack – http://jetpack.me/support/mobile-theme/

Hello Fred-B,

First of all, please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer, clear cache and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins. After this advice, check your website again and if your problem is still there, please provide your website URL so I can further inspect the issue.
