First of all I want to thank you for developing this amazing theme. It is truly the most versatile theme we have used, and provides our readers with a delightful experience.
I am writing with regards to our website (https://worldwithouthorizons.com). We have been trying to place a double line menu item as follows in this example (see attachment). This website is similarly using a modified version of the newspaper theme. We would like to use the wordpress description feature and insert the description on top of the words in the menu item
We were looking at documentation using the menu descriptions and extending the walker class using wp_nav_menu(), but there was not much documentation to go on. At this point as long as the effect is created we would be alright. Perhaps you can point us to the relevant files and we would have a look ourselves.

Unfortunately, our theme does not have any such an option that allows you to make this change, sorry! As a quick solution in this regard would be to add a simple HTML in the menu section, like this -> https://www.screencast.com/t/cjbjrQWmC Notice that after these changes you will need to make some additional customization with a custom CSS for better results.
