sometimes images are created twice in my media library.
Exactly the same image only with the addition of “cropped” in the file name.
Where does this come from and what does it mean?
Can I delete these images with cropped? I don’t want to have every image duplicated.

The images are cropped automatically for the blocks, that’s why you can disable the thumbs you are not using. Set up your thumbs from Newspaper -> Theme panel -> Block settings -> Thumbs on modules/blocks. If you deactivate a dimension from there, next time when you will upload an image, it will not be resized to that dimension.
After changing the thumbnail sizes you need to regenerate your thumbnails using a plugin. Check this: https://forum.tagdiv.com/using-the-theme-with-existing-content/

Ok thanks. But that makes no sense to me at all. The image that was cropped for me is the favicon. I uploaded it in 512px x 512px >> https://modusx.de/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/modusx-favicon-512.png and he saved the image again in 512px x 512px >> https://modusx.de/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/cropped-modusx-favicon-512.png
This makes no sense to me at all. This is exactly the same image twice.
