I am using the newspaper theme with the crypto news demo.
I want to add the cryptocurrency price ticker widget.

As soon as I activate the plugin and add it somewhere, the entire page gets stuck after loading the header and scattered parts of the site.
Two questions:
1. How do I fix this?
2. In the demo, there are some areas in the homepage that contains a banner “Please install the Cryptocurrency Price Ticker Widget”,
How do I remove those banners once I get the widget to work?

The ticker works and does not affect the rest of the page, once the shortcode is entered in a column text for example. What exactly is happening for you?
This plugin is not mandatory to be used if you don’t want to. It was considered for demo purposes. You can edit the page and remove all the instances of the ticker and simply not use the plugin.

What happened in my case was that the browser just stopped rendering and it looks like it is trying to download something forever.
Checked for faulty plugin-plugin interactions, stopped all external plugins but the problem persists.
I guess that I can find another plugin for a cryptocurrency ticker and use css to make it look like the one recommended
Where/How do I remove the banners that read “Please install the Cryptocurrency Price Ticker Widget”?
Edit the page with the composer and remove them, like this example for the ticker below the header
