So, this is my very old website: https://educationalcoloringpages.com/ Currently, I am using Newspaper 7 theme and child theme. My previous developer created child theme with some custom code and meta field content that was working perfectly with the Newspaper 7 version. Now my website is given me warning to upgrade it to the latest version of the Newspaper theme. Technically if I update to the latest version it will not going to display the meta field of my site. Because the has been a lot of changes inside the theme you have made during this years. And that why the old code is not working or connected properly. Unfortunately, in your situation, it won’t be easy, and most likely you’ll need a developer to update the theme from the old version you are using to the latest version, 12.7.4.
Normally, you should update both the theme and the theme plugins. In your case, you need to install the following plugins: tagDiv Composer and tagDiv Standard Pack. If you are using any other theme plugins, those also need to be installed or updated. This can be done from Newspaper > Plugins.
When the theme is updated, it will be replaced with the new version, so all changes made directly to the theme files will be removed. If a child theme is used, it should be disabled and updated to the latest child theme version provided in the theme package from ThemeForest.
