Why is my custom HTML displaying at the bottom of every page? See, for example: https://appletonwi.org/category/wisconsin-state-government/
It’s just formatting code, it shouldn’t be displayed.

Did you add custom HTML there or in the theme files? Please make sure you write it correctly.
