can I include a custom icon and url in the top menu and not have to do with social networks?

Or enable widget area on the top menu.

Hi,
You can customize the top menu from the menus section of wp: http://screencast.com/t/Y2feut8xtdQZ and use font awesome for menus to add icons to the menu.
