I have created a custom post template for each of my categories.
Inside the Newspaper Theme Panel, I have updated each category and assigned its custom post template.
When I visit my site (staging site), I’m not getting the correct templates.
For example, this post has a category of SOFTBALL. In the theme panel, the category is set to open the softball custom template, but it’s pulling up a generic template:
https://www.staging2.ohiovarsity.com/vipers-conclude-tryouts/
In the upper right hand corner, I see this:
EDIT WITH TAGDIV COMPOSER (green box with white text) and next to that it says: GLOBAL Single Post Template 10
Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t.
Is there something I’m missing?
That’s what I have done. I started with the template I liked and customized it for one category and saved. Then I copied it and changed what needed to be changed for another category and renamed it.
I assigned each created custom template to a particular category.
But, sometimes when I click on a post, the wrong custom template appears.
Hello,
I understand you have set an individual template for each category, right?
But did you also set an individual template for each post in that category? like this => https://i.imgur.com/j13stJM.png
If I did not understand correctly, please send me a video or screenshots with exactly what you want to achieve.
Thank you!
I did set up the custom page for each category and also within the template assigned the categories to the correct page. See the screenshots below.
What I’m noticing is on my newer posts it’s working as it’s supposed to. It’s the old posts that seem not to work. Those posts are set using PANEL as the default template. Is there a way to update those template selections based on category?
