Is there any way I can use Custom post types? I have a number of different category posts that are becoming very confusing and could easily be split into different post-type groups. I have installed “Custom Post Type UI” by WebDevStudios, but the post types created cant be found in the category filter

Hello,
Yes, you can create a custom post type, but this is showing separate from the post, it will be a new element in the admin bar, and you can assign taxonomies. Afterward you need to assign the custom post type on the block -> https://i.imgur.com/Dq962t4.png
