Customize posts extract / abstract

Hello,

I would like to know if it is possible to write manually for somoe posts the posts excerpt, rather than having the first words of the post automatically picked up?

Hello,
thank you, but unfortunatelly I don’t have that ‘Excerpt’ section available in my post editor…
do you have any thoughts on how i could recover?

You can make it visible from the ‘screen options’ tab, top right of WordPress when logged in. Built-in function of WP to hide/show some boxes/features if not being used.

Also, the Yoast WordPress SEO plugin is pretty cool for showing a preview of how the excerpt will look in Google, which can sometimes really help if you want something to appear a certain way in search results (SERPS).

WordPress REALLY should make their documentation built in to the dashboard 🙂
