Define default post for custom post types

Do you plan to introduce an option to set a default post template for custom post types?

Hello Martin

For the moment we have no plan in motion regarding cpt implementation. We are currently working on more social options and amp but if this request becomes more popular, we will consider implementing it. We have lots of requests and have to prioritize.

I’d like to add my vote for this. It will allow download products from EDD to get their own default template.

Unfortunately, the theme has not been tested with this kind of plugin and also, we cannot say for sure if it will work or not with this, sorry! Notice that we cannot provide support for untested plugins.

I ended up creating a child theme just to make a template for my custom post type. The post type used by EDD is “download” so I created the template single-download.php and a corresponding loop-download.php with my tweaks. I based them on single.php and loop-single.php respectively.
