My site, http://www.roaliment.ro, has many categories and subcategories since I created it, but now I think it bothers me and I would like to know how to get rid of them without affecting what indexed by Google.
I want to keep most of them and I will migrate others to other categories.
Can you help me do this with as little loss as possible?

Hello Claudia!
The easiest way to achieve what you need is to delete the categories and subcategories which is no need anymore. Google will see anyway those categories are not there anymore when you’re reindexing them. Otherwise, do not delete them if you need those categories when you search on Google.

I want to delete those ctegories to be more easier to find the categorie when i put a new post. At the begining of the website I didnot know that it will be a problem to find a categorie if there are many. Maybe if you cat put a search in the top of the zone when you select the categories is a good option.
So, if you look on the website you will see that only 10 ore 12 categories are used, What is the best addvise from you to delete the rest of them whithout consequences.

I think I didn’t express myself well and maybe I don’t understand what is right.
1. I repeat, I think I have a lot of categories created and I am thinking of deleting them and keeping only the ones I really use but I am afraid that there are links indexed by Google and I lose the ranking. That’s why I want to find out from you how it’s better, to delete them or leave them?
If I leave them, the next problem arises.
2. It is difficult to assign one or more categories because every time I have to pull the scroll bar from the right and it is not comfortable at all. If there was a search by category, it would be easier for me. I mean when I edit an article and assign one or more categories to it. I also attached a capture.

There is no isue. I gest want to know if is ok to delete come categories. I am afraid that it will be a wrong ideea for the Google indexing. I am jest asking you if is ok
