HI,
Is it possible to make the demo content/template become a permanent template so I cannot accidentally uninstall?

Hi,
unfortunately there is no way to do this as the demo content will be uninstalled if you use it and switch the demo or uninstall it. The best way to go about this is to remove the demo content and create your own just keeping the demo style (click this button to chose to install only the demo style and not the content: http://screencast.com/t/YRWTHzp5h2j)
