as as beginner, I’m learning from “VIDEO NEWS” demo site you provided.
I wanna make the color layouts as you see in main page on “VIDEO NEWS”
I adjusted almost every setting from theme panel, but it failed.

there are white blanks surrounding grid.. how can I get rid of this? I wanna make exactly same color layouts as main page of “VIDEO NEWS” demo site.

Unfortunately every demo has it’s own unique css style and in most cases the look cannot be recreated on other demos without substantial css coding as every demo is custom made and takes quite a bit of time. You are better of just installing the demo if you like the design.
If you are trying to recreate the top section of the video news homepage: http://screencast.com/t/ftQKvwtG you will have to add your visual composer elements in a full width row and set a background color from the row settings like so: http://screencast.com/t/rddkk49Fzm – http://screencast.com/t/lVBZqqHzvw
It will require a bit of css for positioning. You can add an extra class to the row and target the elements based on that specific class.
