Difference between Visual Composer and Tag Div?

I built my site a long time ago using Visual Composer but now see Tag Div is recommended.
Is there any benefit to changing all my pages to Tag Div?
ie. performance or otherwise.

Seems like it would be a lengthy process and could cause pages not to work whilst transitioning and rebuilding the pages.

Please notice that the TD Composer is our page builder which is continuously updated and which is powerful. I recommend you to make a new install, on the localhost for example and test our page builder product. This plugin has the entire elements from Visual Composer which are better optimized for our theme.
