Different featured image if on frontpage and in featured category

we would like to request if the following is possible.

For our album reviews we set the cover artwork as featured image, with an additional image uploaded using the advanced custom fields plugin. This image uploaded through the extra image field “camera eye” is then later loaded on the post page, referencing this field.

However if an album deserves additional attention, it gets a second category besides “Album”, namely “featured” and as such the article is displayed on the front page with a larger image to attract more readers.

We would like to know if it is possible somehow to only display the image uploaded in the camera field there, instead of the featured image ? We use flex block 2 and flex block 1.

So basically what I’m trying to achieve is that flex block 2 and flex block 1, if an article is in the category of Music AND featured, to use the image uploaded in the field “camera eye” instead of the image uploaded in the featured image.

Later on the front page the albums have their own section, and there we would like to show the cover artwork in a smaller form, hence falling back on the regular “featured image”

this is a post in the category album review.
We want to have the album cover artwork to be uploaded in the featured image section.
With the Advanced custom fields, we have added the option to upload an extra image with the field name “camera eye”.

Basically, when the post, which is in the album category, also has the category featured checked, we want to have the second image displayed that was uploaded in the advanced custom fields field called “camera eye”, but only in the block that is used in the featured section.

Basically, this can be done on the single post templates, as per photo below.
I’ve opted for the custom field to be displayed on the top right, instead of the featured image for this category.

It would come down to the option for the flex block on the front page, to be able to select between featured image or the custom field. While I know this isn’t an option today and likely won’t be any time soon, I was hoping how this could be achieved for just the flex block in the featured image for the album review category.
