Hi,
how can we disable the meta author name for Facebook link sharing with the new theme update? A couple weeks ago I’ve been told.
“Try to comment the author meta line inside Newspaper/includes/wp_booster/td_wp_booster_functions.php – http://screencast.com/t/Uyy9AS74ULZR”
But it doesn’t seem to work with the latest update.
I added two // on line 577 of my td_wp_booster_functions.php
//echo ’<meta name=”author” content=”’.$td_post_author.’”>’.”\n”;
After I cleared cloudflare/wp cache and debugged my links with the facebook sharing debug tool multiple times. But the author tag is still there.
I tried the previously provided steps that worked with the theme version ~4 weeks ago three times carefully, but no results.

I removed all the lines mentioned in the screenshot, double checked, uploaded, double checked. Cleared cache and cloudflare but the author tag still displays on Facebook.
I debugged several different URLS but they all still display the author tag on Facebook. In the previous theme version I only needed to add two “//”

Please try to scrape the post again using the facebook debugger. You will have to make facebook rescrape your post. Try with a new post or rescrape the old ones.

How can we disable the author tag with the latest theme version?
I removed the whole code but it still displays my author name + link. One update back I only had to add // and it worked just fine, but I still don’t know how to remove the tag nowadays.

Make sure you re-scrape the post as Facebook has a cache as well. It will not work without fb re-scraping the post.

I downloaded the latest theme again, deleted the code you’ve mentioned, exactly. (double checked)
uploaded. Overwritten, double checked.
w3 plugin + cloudflare cache cleaned.
Debugged and rescraped a couple test, new and old URLS with Facebook’s sharing debugger.
All my URLS still keep displaying “by author” at Facebook links.
Can you check it at your end, please.
After I uploaded the new edited out file, my post title also lost its bold settings. And Newspaper’s ads injection after X paragraphs broke down.
So I reuploaded the old tp wp booster now it’s fine again.
Can you test how to disable author meta on Facebook links on your end please?
