I want to be able to combine my Joomla views on some posts with the ones on the newly converted WP site as this data did not transfer over.
The only way to do this, as far as I can see, is to add a plugin that allows me to edit those views, which I have done.
I have disabled the view counter in the newspaper theme, so I only have one set of views showing, but it doesn’t seem to disable. Is there something else I need to do?

I have also flushed the cache and still the counter is there. Any ideas what be greatly appreciated.
