For each user, there is an option to manually select how to “Display name publicly as”. The default option for this is the Nickname (it appears). How can I change this default option to displaying the full name of every user automatically, i.e., First Name and Last Name combined? How can this be done by changing the code or without changing code?
Hi
The theme display the author name as you choose under user profile: http://screencast.com/t/VAEY95eLBC – http://screencast.com/t/rTIbm16i0w53 Just chose the desired form for author’s name and the theme will automatically display the name on the page.
Thanks!
Thanks for the reply. Please see my question again. I am already aware of this option from the User Profile and I had mentioned that in my question.
I have a large number of users (may run into hundreds) and more users get added daily. What I wanted is to change the default option through change of code so that the full name of every user is displayed automatically, i.e., First Name and Last Name combined, instead of same being manually from each user’s profile? At present the default option shows the Nickname and not the full name. Thanks.
Hi
Sorry for misunderstanding!
The theme display author name on post/page as it’s set under user’s profile and don’t have control over these options as they are controlled by WordPress. To change the default display name you’ll need a hook which can control/change that in WordPress. This is a complex task which require many customizations and tests in order to be achieved.
Unfortunately we can’t offer customization services at the moment so if you’re not aware of the steps you need to take in this regard please consider hiring a developer or a freelancer to do this for you.
Thanks!
