Hi there,
I want to display an updated date instead of the published date on each post on my website.
Can you tell me how to do it?
Thank you.
Hi,
With tagDiv Composer, you can add the element Single Post Modified Date in Single Post Template, and you can change the additional text in “Last updated on” => https://www.screencast.com/t/EvfUQMfzkd, and the Single Post Modified Date will show you the last time you edited that post => https://www.screencast.com/t/j74uz43paZj
-> https://forum.tagdiv.com/single-post-shortcodes/
You can duplicate the single post template, add the modified date, and assign a template only when you modify the posts to show the modified date.
Thank you!
Hi,
Is adding a modified date on the default post template instead of the default Single Post Template – PRO possible?
Thank you.
Hi, just trying to understand how this would work. I am trying to create a situation where if the post has been modified, it would show the modified date only, as in “Last modified: MM/DD/YYYY,” but if it has NOT been modified, it would show the published date only. You are suggesting that we create a second template and use the Single Post Modified Data widget, and then show that only when the post has a modified date newer than the published date? Just now clear how to do that.
Seriously? Creating two completely separate templates seems crazy.
First, how do you even conditionalize it so that a post would use one template if the created / modified dates are the same, and a completely different template if the created / modified dates are different? You can’t within TagDiv.
Second, that is completely inefficient especially on sites where you may have 4, 5 or more different post templates for different kinds of content or display formats. You’re saying that a publication should DOUBLE the number of templates just because the Single Post Modified Date field isn’t smart?
What should happen is that the Single Post Modified Date field should NATIVELY be conditional and only show if the modified date does not match the created date. Even better, there should be a toggle in the Single Post Modified Date element: “Show only when different from create date” If checked it would only show if they are different. If not checked it would always show.
Hello,
The single post template has a different id, or you can set different names, and when you edit the post, you can assign the template where is the modified date added,
This is how this works. If you want other functionality, our custom works team can implement for you -> https://tagdiv.com/submit-a-request/
Thank you!
