Hi there,
I did a quick search but was unable to find an answer for my exact issue – apologies if I simply overlooked it.
I’m using the Disqus comment plugin, but I’m finding new comments aren’t automatically syncing with WordPress, which means that the comment tally next to post titles on index pages never goes up, regardless of the actual number of comments.
I’ve read elsewhere when searching about this problem that it should be syncing automatically and that it might take some time, but a) I’ve been giving it lots of time (over a day) and yet it never seems to sync automatically at all, and b) I’d really rather it occurred as closely to immediately as possible, rather than taking upwards of 24 hours.
I’m honestly not sure what’s going wrong here, so any help would be greatly appreciated!
I haven’t had any trouble, so it might not be theme-related. But I’ve contacted Disqus support about things like this (most recently an import of a lot of WordPress comments that their auto-importer couldn’t detect) and they’ve been very helpful.
But I don’t want to speak too soon – maybe others have had this problem here and can help you 🙂
Nothing to do with theme; but the sync does sometimes take longer if there is a major event happening which overloads their system a bit.
On our sites, if somebody posts a comment it usually shows up within 10 minutes on the page at most.
First time sync up normally takes a few hours and they email you to say when it’s done.
Usually if you have an issue, it’s best to run through all the settings for the plugin from the WordPress admin panel, and then on the Disqus site for your account.
My also does not automatically synchronize. I found this Disqus support page and I’m trying to solve. I’ll be back with more news later.
