Hi,
Please make sure that you allow comments on that post: http://screencast.com/t/llgxj8XzxJB
I’m not sure what you mean comments counter show the number of comments that you have on post: http://screencast.com/t/MR4OPAlSuQz – http://screencast.com/t/36a8OUxsgW
Please provide more details!
Thanks!
Disqus works for us. Also shows the comment counts properly since Disqus puts that into the WP system the same way default comment system does, and the theme reads from that also.
Only thing that did NOT work was the comment count on the “author” index, which is known issue with Disqus.
I simply commented out the comment count on the author template.
(Actually, reminds me I need to do that hack for the latest version…. doh.)
Disqus works with comment counts on posts, but not on author page.
Disqus “writes” counts to WP datafield used by WP native comments; which is then read by theme.
HOWEVER – Disqus plugin has not been updated for WP 4.2x or the recent security changes to WP due to the major “comments” XSS vulnerability, so there may be some current “break” between what Disqus is doing and the WP backend — it’s NOT managed by theme in any way.
I usually just comment out the comment item on the author template, but works everywhere else.
I would guess there should be Disqus plugin update soon. Or, you can try one of the new alternate plugins which use Disqus API but add lazy loading and other cool things.
check https://wordpress.org/plugins/wpdiscuz/
for me is the best comments system I found, even better than Disqus. and is all wordpress , not @ 3r party plugin
Integration with User Profile Plugins
BuddyPress – Avatar, Profile page
Users Ultra – Avatar, Profile page
Ultimate Member – Avatar, Profile page
UserPro – Avatar, Badges, Profile page

Too bad it doesn’t have async loading and doesn’t combine its js and CSS files or check to see if other js libs already are loaded … but I guess they are working on that for their next version to clean house. Too messy for my use, but interesting.
I find we actually get more comments from Disqus users and less spam pummeling our system via akismet, as many folks are used to Disqus on the “big sites” ..
but that’s why there is more than one brand of soda đ
