"Do not duplicate posts" in Block settings?

On my homepage I have the following setup:

Block 12: 4 posts from cat=1,2,3
Block 13: 1 post from cat=4
Block 12: 4 posts from cat=1,2,3 offset=4
Block 13: 1 post from cat=4 offset=1

But I would like to change it so Block 12 always shows cat=1,2,3,4 and Block 13 shows cat=4 for any post that was not displayed before it on the page. Is there a way to do this?

I have another theme that allows me to “not duplicate posts”. See this for reference:

Sorry, I found the answer here:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/unique-articles/

I think Unique Articles will work and I will test it later… but how exactly does it work? For example does it work from the top to bottom of the page? If a post is at top it doesn’t place it in a block below?

If I want to have a block at the bottom with a specific cat=4 and the latest post, will it also display cat=4 latest post above? What overrides what?

Hi,

That setting will not allow posts to show up twice in the page blocks, grids etc. The functionality would be as you say, if it detects doubled posts these will be skipped and the next in line according to the filtering and sorting will be displayed.

Using it will ensure there are no duplicates, note that when using block pagination there may be problems after using it (not on initial page load).
