Choose a preferred theme version to install: Newspaper (wordpress menu) -> Updates -> Newspaper Time Machine.

Is it possible w/o installing the latest version? I have 8.0 version and would like to try 9.5 without installing the latest version.

If you’ll have that version in the list from Time Machine, then you can update it. Otherwise, you can not try that version.
