Now I have a big grid to show featured posts, however I don’t know how to make my post “featured” so I just create one category name “featured” to keep all the top posts. It’s working fine unless I want to hide the category tag from the post so.
I know that there’s a solution to hide a certain category, but I think it would be nice for me If I know how to make it featured without using the category module of wordpress.

Yes for the moment this is the only way as the theme will ignore featured posts, they don’t work fine with current system used for post filter in blocks.
