Does Newspaper theme support 4k screens

Hi, I checked some of your pro demos for example the Gossip Pro. And it doesn’t open well on 4k screens maybe because of the fixed row width that is set to 1200px. Should I strech row to full with padding. To check 4k compatibility, I used browser inspect tools. Are they different from actual 4k screens?

Hello !

Yes, Newspaper Theme does support 4K images. Please make sure that you upload the photos at their full potential and also make sure that your host can provide the screens because in the 4K area there are hosts that cannot deliver the proper image quality.

Thank you !

It’s not just about the images, it’s about entire website. Will my website open and look good on a 4k screen because all the template in the cloud library are having maximum width of row set to 1200px, 1400px or so? Will it look and open the same way on a 4k display as it does on a 1080p or normal screen?

Hi,

The cloud templates will will display the same layout that you will configure for all displays, for example if you set the row to be on 1400px on all devices will be that width set -> https://i.imgur.com/d5zBtk1.png if you choose “Stretch row and content” the this will be displaying for all devices in full width.

Hope That I understand well that you want to mean, if not please let me know!
Thank you!

So, does it mean if I choose 1400px it will leave more than 2000px on sides as margin? Then why did you people have set the row width to 1200 and 1400 for most of your demos? Don’t you want to have these demos look great on 4k displays as well? Or do you think that only a few people own 4k displays so they can be ignored which is insane if it’s the case.

Please tell me if you can in one simple line, what do I have to do so that my website opens correctly on 4k displays as well?

Hi,

We have some demos that are full width too, but indeed there are more that are not, there are many users that use laptops or small screens therefore most of our demos have small width.

If you want you can check the demos here -> https://demo.tagdiv.com/select_demo/select_demo_newspaper?utm_source=live_preview&utm_medium=click&utm_campaign=demos&utm_content=demos_button#demos also you can edit the demos using tagDiv Composer if you want to make theme full with, in special PRO demos.

Thank you!

Thanks Calin, for the reply.
1) Would you also suggest changing the text size unit from px to em because if I set it at 20px it will be same for both 1080p and 4k screens which isn’t a good thing in my opinion. It will look good on 1080p screens but on 4k it’d look extremely small because of the high resolution of the display.

2) In relation to the last line of the first paragraph, does browser scaling work on desktops as well as it does on mobile devices. I mean will 1px be of same width for both 1080p and 4k displays or would it scale up for the 4k just like it does in mobile phones. For example, 16px font would look good on 5inch 100dpi screen but for the same physical dimension of the screen (5inch) with more dpi, say 400, 16px would look very small. But it doesn’t happen since the browser takes the 1px of dimension differently for both screens, i.e., the 100dpi and the 400dpi, and scale it up accordingly. Do you have any idea about whether or not this is valid for desktops as well?

3) Can you do me a favor? If anyone in your staff owns a 4k laptop/desktop or macbook air/pro(new models), can you send a screenshot of the Gossip Pro demo and one full width demo here since I don’t own any such device? More than the theme width, I am worried about the font sizes. They’re very hard to scale up for 4k when the optimum limit of breakpionts is 1141px.

Hi,

1. Using tagDiv Composer and cloud templates you can set the em in style tab -> https://i.imgur.com/E8dw9Rh.png indeed, more improvements are needed, our developers will do their best.

2. Unfortunately , yes for desktops will be display the same on all type of devices, there are some elements that can scale, but these are only few for the moment. Here is a reference how it should look the code to scale -> https://css-tricks.com/books/fundamental-css-tactics/scale-typography-screen-size/

3. Unfortunately we do not have a 4k, as I know our developers will get one for tests when will make the improvements for 4k.

Thank you for your understanding and sorry for the inconvenience!

Happy to know that developers are taking these things into considerations. Hoping for the best.
