Double set of menus even though only one is showing.

We have created our own menu under Apperances -> menu, where only the “Header menu” is ticked. Despite this when we are using texise.net or trying to tab our way through the web-site the menu are showing twice. This is really important to fix so we can please all of our readers.

Now that is unusual, so the problem is that the main header menu is displayed twice. I have not seen this before. If you could provide a link to your website we will take a look.

Maybe a plugin is causing the issue, you could try as a quick test to deactivate them all, except theme plugins. Clear all caching and check to see if this has any effect.

I have tried setting a menu as the main menu as well, but it is not doubled

It is not displayed twice otherwise if you try to tab through the site or use a text-tool.
http://beta.underdusken.no/, here is the site, as you can see, only one header is visible, but as you can see here https://www.textise.net/showText.aspx?strURL=https%253A//beta.underdusken.no/. The menu is displayed twice. If I try to disable the menu, there is nothing showing.

That would be the mobile menu, this is loaded as well when on desktop. Maybe that is what you are referring to and would answer your question

Yes, that may be. How can I remove that?

You cannot remove that, that is the theme functionality at the moment. The mobile menu will be loaded together with the page content and there is no possibility of removing it.

But that is a bit weird. How are your site then optimalized for people who need Screen-reader and need to tab through the site? It is like 10 more tabs than there should be?

We have not tested tabbing through the site unfortunately, as this is not a standard user behavior. The mobile menu will be loaded but the menu is hidden from view and is not accessible otherwise.
This is how the theme functions, both menus will be loaded and each served based on device. I am sorry of this is an inconvenience for you. I will add this to our list and pass this info to our development team and maybe in the future this will change.
