Hi,
We’re using the Event Calendar Pro plugin with Newspaper, and we noticed that their search feature – which is ajax based – is not working with Newspaper. I confirmed that it is theme interaction by switching our dev environment theme back to WordPress 25 and everything with event calendar pro works fine. Sooo, two things:
1. I need a link or you to point me to the latest version of Newspaper – 9.7 ish I guess – so I can make sure it’s not fixed in a newer version. I’m on 9.5 or something.
2. Have you heard of the above issue? Do you know what I should do to resolve it if 1 doesn’t work?
Thanks in advance!
I upgraded to the current version and I still have the same issue outlined above.
Any help?
Hi,
Sorry for the delay, please try not to reply multiple times in the topic as this will only delay the response from our part. It will refresh the topic date and move it to the back of the line, we reply from oldest to newest at all times.
Regarding the issue, there have been other reports concerning that plugin. Some users mention conflicts with the theme, or errors. We haven’t made any testing with the plugin up to this point unfortunately, I could not say what is causing problems.
Maybe our developers will get around to make some tests with it, I can’t promise anything however. Sorry for the inconvenience.
The theme can only be downloaded from themeforest – https://tagdiv.com/update-newspaper-theme/
The latest version can always be downloaded from there.
Thanks
Ok. Any recommendation on how I can debug this with your Theme? Is there logging you can point me to or something along those lines?
Until our developers get to it, I really can’t say what is conflicting between the theme and the plugin, or what the solution would be.
Maybe if possible experiment with the plugin settings, could be a setting from it that causes problems. Or maybe try other event plugins. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Can I get an update on this? We’ve been living with this and trying to work around it with no success. What can I do to get you guys to take a look at this? I upgraded to 9.7…still doesn’t work. It’s clearly an impact on the Newpaper theme…as it’s working with every other theme I try. Please help đ
Can we perhaps get help from someone to help us understand how to diagnose this? For example, like a little start here help – where engineering can point us to at least the piece of code that this all occurs in so we can try and debug? This has been plaguing our site and creating a very unhappy customer base. Help me out by letting me know where the code is that would get triggered here. From there I’ll debug it and keep you guys in the loop. Maybe?
If there was a known solution or if we had a team for treating cases when the theme conflicts with certain plugins, I would gladly provide a solution. But as it is currently there simply is no time for investigating such cases.
As I mentioned previously I have added this on the list, but I can’t say when or if this will be investigated. There are many projects currently in development, with higher priority. I am very sorry for the inconvenience.
I wasn’t asking for a solution, I understand the priorities. I’m asking for guidance on where to look. For example, what PHP module is that function controlled/run from so that I can try and debug it myself. For the support I purchased, you can’t even ask a developer what module I should try and debug? It will save me the trouble of converting a whole important portion of our site. Again, just looking for guidance on where to look, that’s a few minute ask of an engineer.
Hi,
Sorry for this inconvenience but please note that we cannot help you in this case, sorry! Your task is not covered by our support! Please note that we cannot check and integrate any untested plugin with our theme because this thing is impossible, sorry! To integrate a plugin, it’s not a simple task which involves more hours of deeper investigation and hard coding and this one is not a priority for us, at the moment, sorry! If you want to integrate it in our theme, please do it yourself or if you are not aware of the steps which are needed to take in this case, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you! Usually, we recommend the developers from studio.envato.com.
Thank you for your understanding!
Best regards!
OMG! I’m not a damn beginner, I understand it and clearly, you’re not understanding what I’m saying because your answers don’t say something like “our developers don’t have the time to answer your simple question”…otherwise you wouldn’t be giving me this word salad runaround. I didn’t once ask you to integrate it…not once. Read the thread. I asked for something that would take you five minutes to answer..way shorter than all this excuses you’ve been providing. Done
Please check our support policy: https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-theme-support/ as well as the envato support policy https://themeforest.net/page/item_support_policy
Please understand that investigating why a certain untested plugin does not work with the theme also falls beyond what the theme support can offer you. For any third party plugin implementation or debugging you will need to hire a freelancer from studio.envato.com or other trusted freelance websites.
Thank you for your understanding!
